Nation’s Restaurant News' Readers Named Jeremiah Chapman One of the Most Influential Suppliers and Venders in the Country
Once a year, Nation’s Restaurant News editors come together to select influential industry insiders for "The Power List." For 2022, their list focuses on "people who are evolving the restaurant industry through fresh ideas and game-changing approaches to leadership, workforce, equity and inclusion, investment, restaurant technology, supply chain, growth models and more."
The editors pride themselves on surveying their readers and allowing their voices to be heard, so they ask who their readers think deserve recognition in the industry - which is where the "Reader Picks" program comes into play.
They asked their readers, who do you think has big ideas for the restaurant industry? They responded with nearly 400 executives, operators, chefs and more from restaurants, suppliers and associations across the country. The editors put these nominees into four categories, and one of them was for suppliers and vendors.
Among those named, was Jeremiah Chapman, the Founder & CEO of FreshFry. Jeremiah has been recognized by Forbes 30 under 30, and holds a B.S. and master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Louisville Speed School, graduating cum laude.
"While studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Louisville, I would convert old oil from restaurants to biodiesel and it was completely degraded when I got it. I remembered when I was a kid, my grandmother would use potatoes to clean cooking oil after frying fish and a light bulb went off. I furiously researched how to use plant scraps to clean oil for years, developed a product, then showed it to a chef and it failed miserably. But the chef explained to me why it failed and what really mattered to him - food quality and safe operations. In that kitchen, FreshFry was born. Chefs enabled FreshFry to transform plants into Pods that help keep food quality high and operations safe.”
